Youth Leader

David Dallas

David Dallas Bitwaye is a proactive youth leader based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, committed to fostering sustainable and inclusive food systems. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Property and Facilities Management from Ardhi University, David applies his academic background to grassroots community initiatives that promote nutrition, environmental health, and food security.

As a Food System Youth Leader with the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), David has spearheaded school nutrition projects, fruit tree planting, and vegetable garden establishment. He champions hygiene and waste management through community-led market clean-ups, emphasizing circular approaches like converting organic waste into fertilizer to strengthen local food systems.

David’s leadership also spans national and international platforms. He has collaborated with Kite Tanzania to mentor young entrepreneurs on sustainable business practices and co-developed urban energy solutions at the Just City Hackathon. Additionally, his work with AIESEC’s tree-growing campaigns contributed to planting over 1,000 trees in Dar es Salaam, demonstrating his commitment to environmental stewardship.

Combining project management skills with a vision for youth-driven change, David continues to advance urban resilience and sustainable food systems across Tanzania.
