
Abdurahman Juma
Youth Leader
Abdurahman Juma is a trained Nutritionist from Sokoine University of Agriculture and an influential youth leader working at the intersection of nutrition, food systems, and community well-being in Tanzania. With hands-on experience in nutrition education, food security, and public health, Abdurahman supports underserved communities through evidence-based, scalable interventions.
He is a proud graduate of the Tenkai Hybrid Course on Nutrition and Food Security Improvement in Africa, facilitated by the Tokyo University of Agriculture, Japan, which enhanced his capacity to deliver innovative, context-specific solutions to food system challenges.
In his leadership role as the Dar es Salaam Regional Coordinator for the Tanzania Youth Alliance for Food Systems, in collaboration with the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), Abdurahman leads impactful youth-led campaigns, multistakeholder dialogues, and advocacy efforts aimed at inclusive policy change and sustainable food systems. His work includes mentoring emerging youth leaders, coordinating intergenerational forums, and promoting climate-smart agriculture.
Abdurahman is passionate about building strong partnerships with government institutions, civil society, and the private sector to ensure long-term improvements in nutrition, food access, and household resilience across Tanzania.
