Youth Leader

Regina Adolf Mlay is a passionate youth leader and food systems advocate from Tanzania, committed to transforming how young people engage with agriculture, nutrition, and climate resilience. As a champion for sustainable and inclusive food systems, she actively leads and supports initiatives that empower youth, promote innovation, and drive systemic change.

At the core of Regina’s work is her deep belief in the power of youth-led solutions. She engages young people across communities through education, training, and advocacy to ensure their voices are heard in food systems decision-making processes. Through school outreach programs, Regina promotes food literacy, climate awareness, and the importance of sustainable agriculture. Her workshops introduce students to topics like regenerative farming, healthy diets, and environmental conservation, laying a foundation for a more conscious and empowered generation.

Regina also advocates for the integration of technology in agriculture, guiding youth and community groups in applying digital tools and smart systems to tackle agricultural challenges. From hydroponic farming and climate monitoring systems to digital platforms that connect farmers to markets, she promotes practical and scalable innovations that increase food production while minimizing environmental impact.

Her commitment to systemic change goes beyond local projects  Regina actively participates in dialogues and campaigns that call for youth inclusion in policy-making around food, agriculture, and nutrition. She regularly speaks at forums, contributes to position papers, and mobilizes peers to engage with government and civil society actors to shape more equitable and resilient food systems.

In addition, Regina leads tree-planting and school garden initiatives that not only improve nutrition but also teach climate-smart practices and the importance of biodiversity in food systems. These programs help children and youth connect directly with nature, food sources, and sustainability principles from an early age.

Recognized for her leadership, Regina continues to build bridges between communities, technology, policy, and education working tirelessly to create a food future that is inclusive, just, and youth-driven.
