
Innocent Msoka
Youth Leader
Innocent Cosmas Msoka is an Food systems youth leader and changemaker driving transformation in Tanzania’s food systems through collective action, policy engagement, and community-centered innovation. As the Arusha Youth Voices Collective Action Policy Lead, he leads coordinated efforts that bring together young people, local stakeholders, and institutions to co-develop inclusive and sustainable food system policies.
He is the co-founder of Ushindi Ventures, a social enterprise pioneering maggot farming as a sustainable solution to food waste and animal nutrition challenges. By converting organic waste into high-protein animal feed, the initiative promotes circular economy practices and supports more resilient, resource-efficient farming systems. In addition, he is the founder of Shellgro Solutions, an agritech startup that upcycles discarded eggshells into eco-friendly fertilizers Crystal-Cal and Cal-Boost that improve soil health and support climate-smart farming.
Innocent also serves as Communications Lead at the Tanzania Youth Alliance for Food Systems (TYAFS) and is a nationally recognized Arusha Food Systems Youth Leader (AFSYL). In these roles, he supports multi-stakeholder engagement, youth policy advocacy, and grassroots capacity building to strengthen agri-food value chains and food security in rural and urban communities.
Beyond policy and enterprise, Innocent is a creative digital strategist. He leverages storytelling, campaign design, and multimedia tools to amplify youth voices, showcase community innovation, and promote inclusive narratives around food systems development.
