Tanzania Youth Alliance for Food Systems
The Tanzania Youth Alliance for Food Systems (TYAFS) is a dynamic network committed to empowering young people to take an active role in shaping the future of food systems in Tanzania. We are dedicated to promoting meaningful youth engagement in policy-making, program planning, and the implementation of initiatives that address the critical challenges of nutrition, agriculture, environment, and climate change. Through collaboration, capacity-building, and advocacy, TYAFS aims to create a more equitable and sustainable food system that meets the needs of all Tanzanians.

Our Vision
To promote meaningful engagement of youth in FOOD SYSTEMS policy, program planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of initiatives designed to reach young people in Tanzania
Strategic Objectives
- To enhance youth empowerment and participation in influencing favorable Food Systems-related policies
- To build knowledge and skills of youth in Food Systems for enabling them to make informed decisions
- To promote equitable access to Nutritional services to improve youth health and wellbeing

Service Delivery

Policy
Policy development and advocacy are at the heart of creating lasting change. In this area, TYAFS works to influence and shape policies that support sustainable food systems and youth development. We collaborate with stakeholders at local, national, and international levels to ensure that the voices of young people are included in policy dialogues and that the policies enacted reflect their needs and aspirations.

Youth Engagement
We believe that young people are vital to the future of food systems. Through this thematic area, we focus on empowering youth to take leadership roles, participate in decision-making processes, and advocate for policies that support sustainable food practices. We provide platforms and opportunities for youth to voice their opinions, share ideas, and collaborate on initiatives that promote positive change.
